Not what I hoped

I had 2 Chocolate Extract kits. I brewed them on consecutive days and both kits came out 10 points lower than was listed as normal. Not sure what has happened because I have brewed dozens of extract kits and only one other turned out badly.
They have not finished fermenting, but the initial taste seems, well, ok. Too weak and short on body but the taste is ok.
I like the simplicity of extract brewing, but I have brewed whole grain for over 30 years. Now I am considering going back to whole grain.

Excellent chocolate stout. More positive comments than my recipe. I learned something new.

Great taste

I bought two of these when AHS was offering them on sale for $20 and made them as a double batch. Pitched dry US05 into the primary. Glad I used a blow off tube. The final beer is one of the best stouts I have ever made. Finish was a bit sweet, but adding 8oz of fireball to the keg took care of that and gave it a great cinnamon flavor. I serve it on a nitro tap. Will definitely make it again. May add a few more IBUs next time.

Patiently Waiting

I just bottled over the weekend. Great aroma and good flavor so far. I can't wait to give this one a try. Austin Homebrew's service was outstanding. Everything arrived fresh and in great condition.

I Don't Know Yet

This is in the secondary for about another week. Looks good, smells good so it should taste good, right?
