The brew kettle, sometimes called a brew pot, is one of the handfuls of truly essential pieces of homebrewing equipment. Austin Homebrew has high-quality stainless steel brew pots and boil kettles ready to complete your homebrew set-up. Both extract and all-grain brewers need a good, sturdy brew pot or kettle for their boil. Although you can certainly start out by buying a stockpot from a big-box store, eventually youíll want to upgrade to a dedicated kettle just for beer making. What Size Brew Pot Do I Need?
Size matters. Consider this when selecting your brew pot or kettle. This will determine the maximum volume you can boil. For most beginners, our basic 5-gallon pot will work great.
Plan for the future homebrew days and buy a brew pot or kettle thatís at least 1.5 times your batch size.
For a 5-gallon batch, we recommend a 10 Gallon Brew Pot. Going twice as large protects you against a boilover.

The inside of the kettle should feature internal volume markers in liters and gallons.
