Disappointed

I love brown ales. I really love Samuel Adams Boston Ale so I expected something better than what I ended up with. It fermented just fine, but came out way too light in color, almost American Lager like in color, far lighter than the base beer it's cloning. It lacks body, but after a couple weeks in the keg it is starting to become something I can drink, so for now, it remains in the keezer.

This is a mild brew with no bitterness and only moderate hop flavor. This brew takes time to mature so don't Rush the brew. I gave it 2weeks in primary 2 weeks in secondary and month in keg. Buy this brew and you won't be disappointed.

100% it is better than what you buy in the store. It has a nice ending, whereas the store bought seems hollow.

I had it as a partial mash. After two weeks in carboy (no secondary) the beer had a strong yeasty smell and a dull taste. Bottled and waited for two more weeks, then tried again. The yeasty smell was gone, and the taste somewhat improved, but still it was quite mediocre. However, after two more weeks, which makes a month in the bottles, it became real good, and kept improving for the total of six weeks. Will save a few bottles and try them several months later :-) I could not find this beer in Austin stores, so cannot compare, but overall this clone is nothing great, just OK.
