I have not had the original, so I can't comment on that aspect. What I can comment on is the fact that this was my first AG batch and it was so simple! It is also the first batch that I have brewed that I actually love and find no major problem with. Next time I think I will add more hops, but that's a personal preference thing. I am also pleased that I am not the only one that likes the beer I brewed, but my friends and my brother's friends enjoyed it as well. Cheers AHS, thanks for giving me a recipe that has become my house brew!

This is a very close clone. I will use AHS Redhook ESB as an experimental base in the spirit, if not the definition, of a SMaSH.
