I start all my small 4 to 6 gallon batches with a mix of hot water and Bentonite in my fermenting bucket and in addition to the usual stirring needed with fruit wines, I like to be sure that heavy bentonite is stirred up well several times a day Ö.this paddle does well to reach the bottom of my 6 gallon buckets ...the upper handle I may cut the sides back just a bit so it can be used upside down thru the opening of a one gallon carboy which I use exclusively in secondary for easier handling.
