Excellent Clone

Brewed 3/31/19. Transferred to secondary 4/28/19. Bottled 6/6/19. OG 1.085. FG 1.022. ABV 8.25. First couple bottles were a bit sharp. Better as it aged and now after 5 months of bottle conditioning it is excellent. Side by side taste tests show it's very close to the real Kwak. Mine seems a bit boozier. I love Kwak and will definitely by this kit again. Be patient and you will be rewarded.

Fantastic

Letting this age 10 weeks plus. One of the best beers I have ever brewed. Lots of flavor. Very true to the original beer.

I used to drink this brew every time I was in Brussels. I could never drink too many of them, but they were still a favorite..., so getting this kit was a leap of faith! I am so glad I did!!! I brewed almost exactly 1 year ago, and did so, for some friends visiting, this year, who went to Belgium as often as I did. Yup..., it was in the keg for 10-11 months, and boy oh boy was it worth it!! Smooth, with that beautiful maltiness and hop undertones. After our first, we just started calling it the Velvet Hammer. Mine came in at 9.43% ABV. Original SG-1.091....., Final SG-1.019. I really questioned whether the Original could be 1.091, but that's what I had after I added my pre-boiled/cooled water to bring up the volume to 5.25 gallons. I may not have mixed the wort well enough to get an exact reading, but that's what I got. Judging by the effects of our 3rd beer, I tend to believe the ABV numbers I got! If you love the "Belgian Trappist" styles with their unique flavor profile, and you are willing to wait, (maybe not as long as I did), you are going to love this kit! Beautiful color, Beautiful aroma, Outstanding flavor and way to easy to drink.

I playfully named my clone version Kwrack, and that is exactly what it is. This beer is similar to Kwak, but the Kwrak version is a bit sweeter, and has the most wonderful bouquet and goes down way too easily for pushing 11%. Let it condition 3 weeks or more, your patience will be rewarded.
