Definitly a 5 star lager. In my opinion better than the original. Used White Labs 838 Southern German Lager yeast with a yeast starter. OG was 1085 at 75 degrees. Did not do alc. booster. Used servomyces yeast additive. Starter on 7/4. Brewed on 7/6. Started fermenting on 7/7. Moved to digitally controlled freezer at 50-55 degrees. After 10 days raised temp to 60-70 degrees for 2 days to remove the sulpher and improve flavor. Transferred to secondary on 7/16 and cooled to 40 degrees for 4 weeks. On 7/26 hydrometer is 1030. Bottled on 8/12 Final Gravity is 1024. Yield 51 beers. Alcohol is 8.6% ABV after priming sugar was added to bottle. Bottle conditioned for 3 weeks. This pretty much followed the recipie that came with it. I opened a bottle on 9/15 at the minimum conditioning time and the beer was fantastic. I cannot wait for it to get better with age. Great blended flavors, good mouthfeel, good ABV, good carbonation. I will brew this again and recommend it to others. Just a really good beer.
