I bought the extract version of this kit with Wyeast 3864 (Canadian/Belgian). It produced a decent Belgian Triple, but definitely not a clone of La Fin du Monde. Probably the biggest difference between this kit and La Fin is that the kit doesn't use ANY spices. I added (not called for by the kit recipe) 1 tbsp fresh orange zest and 1 tsp ground coriander at 10' and it was still very underspiced in a side-by-side comparison. The other apparent difference is that the kit produced more of a caramel-like flavor than is found in La Fin. I did a late extract addition so I believe this flavor and the slightly darker color may be from all the specialty grain (3lbs.) used in the kit recipe.

This is by far the best clone kit I have ever brewed! I had a brew party, with 6 kegs on tap, and the La Fin was freshly tapped. Everyone absolutely loved it. They couldn't believe that I brewed it...from the time the aroma hits your nose, it seems like the original. I am undoubtedly doing this one again! I just brewed a double batch of the Trois Pistoles Unibroue clone.....I'm hoping it's just as good as this one! Bottom line: If you like La Fin du Monde you WILL NOT be disappointed!

I brewed a batch of this awesome beer. Fin is one of my favorites too. I think this kit tastes better than the real thing. There are a few others that would agree with me having taken part in a taste test. This kit should be tried by EVERY BEER DRINKER.

Brewed this about a month ago, bottled for about 4 weeks so far. Tastes a little like a Hefe (banana, citrus) and now starting to get a caramel flavor--not really like the original, but seems interesting. Followed instructions to the letter, although 2 wks in secondary, not 1. Carbonation is OK, not great. Could all be just my brewing acumen, but any comments would be appreciated on taste, nose and so forth

This took a bit to come around but is worth it. Nails it. My friends who are fans of LaFin said this was even better than the real thing. Good job AHS
