Honey malt has an intense malt sweetness that is very "honey-like," adding honey flavors and aromas to the beer. Patterned after the German Bruhmalt, it is a perfect addition to brown and strong ales, and to beers using honey as an adjunct sugar. Depending on the amount used, it adds a reddish color to the beer. The normal usage rate is up to 20% of the total grain bill.
