I did the extract of this kit and while it wasn't an exact match to the commercial variety, it was terrific and very popular at my house. It's on my list now of top ten favorite kits!

I did the all grain clone. Well the beer isn't bad at all it just doesn't taste anything like Downtown Brown. Way too dark and roasty, but still good. I took it to my local homebrew club meeting and they all liked it, but agreed it didn't really fit the American Brown style. Now that I have the recipe I think I would get rid of the Black Patent.
