Not as hoppy and roasty as a dry stout, this beer has a sweetness from the addition of caramel malts and lactose (milk sugar). It is similar in style to Mackeson XXX Stout. This is an Award-winning recipe.

This kit turned out excellent. It is sadly all gone now. Mother in law hammered it after she claimed stouts gave her a headache.

This is an excellent sweet stout, very similar to Mackesons Triple X. Family and friends tore through this beer, including those that previously claimed that they "don't like dark beer." Very easy and enjoyable to put a few of these back on a summer evening by the pool.

This is a most excellent brew, even friends that dont like beer have enjoyed this one. I have never had a sweet stout before making this one so I cant say how close it is to the original, but it is great.

Very good, easy to drink stout. Never had sweet stout before this and like it a lot. It is a nice change of pace from my favorite, Guinness.
