AHS Newahtarillo Pale Ale (10A) - ALL GRAIN Homebrew Ingredient Kit

All grain. I tend to not like heavily dry hopped beers, so I put the DH addition in at flame out. This made my beer taste like a hoppy blonde ale, not a pale ale. Still very tasty, crisp, lagerlike qualities. Not pungent enough hop flavor for pale ale. Perfect balance. The grain bill is exceptional for just about anything pale in color. I would make this again and DH for 3 days next time. I am using this grain bill for my blonde ale now.

Wound up being a perfect choice for my first batch of homebrew. Impressed a lot of folks with this one.

I used this kit as a base for a rosemary pale ale. I reduced each 1 oz. ahtanum hop addition to .75 oz and added about a half ounce of minced fresh rosemary to the boil at 10 minutes. I left out the amarillo dry hop, instead using the remaining .5 oz of ahtanum and several sprigs of rosemary in the keg. The result is the best pale ale I've made to date. I'm sure the beer would be great without the rosemary, too. Highly recommended.
