The gift of beer

I often give the gift of beer to friends that have every thing. I recently brewed this Mexican style Lager for a good friends wife. I was a little concerned as I have never lagered a beer before. The instructions were well written. After a long brew day(home made wort chiller $#%^&!!!), I fermented and Lagered as instructed and a few months later...WOW! This one is dead on the money. If you like a slightly darker Mexican style beer, then brew this.

I only made this because my dad bought it for me because my mom loves Dos Equis Amber. I don't do lagers well at all but I gave it a shot. OH MY!!!!!! I was pleasantly shocked. I couldn't keep the ferm temp right but I lagered it for almost 4 weeks before kegging so I guess that made up for it. It was fantastic! We blew through the whole batch in 2 weeks, just 4 of us. It was a little heavier that Dos Equis but had this wonderful malt character similar to a brown ale. Like nothing I've ever tasted before. It was a thing of beauty.
