AHS Creamy Dark Ale (23) - MINI MASH Homebrew Ingredient Kit

Found this recipe looking for a clone of the Leinenkugel Creamy Dark. It's not spot on, but it's close. I added the alcohol boost at the prodding of a brew mate (a first for me). I expected the boost might bitter the beer a bit, but that didn't happen. 1.060 OG finished at 6.3%. Dark, smooth, creamy, and tasty. Really good beer.

This is good beer in spite of my brewing abilities. Get some of this smooth and tasty goodness.

EXCELLENT! Very little waiting for what seems like a complex brew. Roasty, slightly hoppy, full bodied and smooth. I agree with another comment that it is not a stout or porter. I even added the boost which brought it up to 7.4% ABV. I usually like to brew all grain but I needed to get this done quick so I ordered the basic LME kit. With the turnaround that I am sure AHB goes through with their extract I will probably do more extract kits if they all turn out this good. Thanks AHB!!!

This stuff is fantastic! It looks much darker than it tastes. Definitely not a stout style beer. Another reviewer mentioned a comparison to Leinenkugel Creamy Dark Ale - I agree completely. One of my favorites.

Brewed this one for the second time. If you like Leinenkugels creamy dark, you will like this. Had an uncle tell me it was better than Leinenkugels. Worth your time!
