African Amber (10B) - MINI MASH Homebrew Ingredient Kit

I need to preface my comments by letting you know that, living in the Seattle area, I am able to make a direct comparison to the real Mac and Jack's. The AHB version is a nice amber ale, but not true to the actual Mac and Jack's. Color and mouthfeel are right on. The AHB version is noticeably more citrus. I also felt that the base malts were a bit lacking as compared to the original. I believe that the real thing uses Maris Otter malts, lending a richer flavor. I really believe that this could hit the mark with some minor changes.

Will be my third time making this (first time all-grain) and it gets better and better each time. Living in Seattle, we get our fair share of the real mac and jacks and this is pretty close. The wife loves this beer better than the real thing and now that she has had my homebrew version she has no problem with the mess I make after brewing :)
