Wish it had some kind of rim to help lifting. Must be supported from the bottom or you will have quite a mess to clean up, voice of experience>
Making a small mead for first time. Only nag is that the lid tended to sneak back up and leak air. It settled out after the 1st 24hrs. Wasn't because of fermenting pressure, it seemed to be the tight seal of the silicone on the lid & a slight bend to the neck so it wanted to slip back out.
The mead is sitting fine now and no probs with the lid. Very happy with it.
