American Ale II Wyeast

WY1272

Species : Ale
Fermentation Temp Range (°F) : 60-72
Apparent Attenuation Range (%) : 72-76
Flocculation : Medium-High
Alcohol Tolerance : 10%

Pitching/Fermentation : Ferment at warmer temperatures to accentuate hop character with an increased fruitiness. Or, ferment cool for a clean, light citrus character. It attenuates well and is reliably flocculent, producing bright beer without filtration.

Notes : Expect a soft, clean profile with hints of nut, and a slightly tart finish.

Best Styles : American Amber Ale, American Brown Ale, American IPA, American Pale Ale, American Stout, Blonde Ale, Fruit Beer, Imperial IPA, Wood-Aged Beer

Want to make a Yeast Starter? Home brewers are always led to believe making a yeast starter is for the advanced brewer. This could not be further from the truth. If anything beginning brewers should start with yeast starters. When you think about it they are nothing more than a small extract brew. Show Me How To Make A Yeast Starter

Fermentation Didn't Start

Wyeast is usually really good, but not good enough for slow service. The yeast arrived a week after the pack date with a warm ice pack. After a week in the wort with no progress I had to re-pitch with yeast from another seller, which started fermenting within hours.
