Star San leaves a microscopic film on sanitized items that will continue to protect bottles and equipment even after they have dried. This will not affect the quality, flavor, clarity or color of beer. Finally, it is environmentally friendly, biodegradable, and will not harm the "helpful" bacteria in a septic system.
Usage: 1 oz per 5 gallons of water. Contact time of 1-2 minutes.
It is not recommended to use Star San on aluminum or copper because of its acidic nature. Do not mix with chlorinated cleansers.

I have recently ventured into the world of home wine-making. Because I have been canning my own food practically my whole life, I understand the importance of sanitizing your tools and bottles. Which I usually do with very hot soapy water and either a boiling water bath or heating in the oven. Neither one of which was suitable for making wine. I saw this product used by a couple on a YouTube video. And I thought it was worth a try. However, I had no idea how much I needed. So when I found this product on Austin HomeBrew, I ordered two small bottles. Well it turns out you just need a very small amount in your bucket of water. That meant I was very happy with the cost side of it. But even better, you don't have to worry about rinsing. You just soak your jars or bottles or tools for a couple of minutes and you are good to go. You don't even have to dry them. Very easy and convenient. Pretty sure this is the only product for this purpose that I will ever use. I highly recommend it!
When brewing Iím often thinking of ways to shorten the brew day. Star San is non rinse, case and point.
It's a very easy to use sanitizer that is excellent for anything to do with brewing, wine making, or food preparation. Just do not use on metal surfaces or equipment.
Good stuff, worked well.
