Just finished bottling fifty 12 ounce bottles, now set aside to condition for four weeks. Not sure what is happening but my OG was .010 higher than expected, coming in at 1.053 (no extra sugar for an ABV boost) and my FG came in at 1.007. I'm showing that'll be just a tick over 6%...not complaining though, lol. I don't have the means to cold ferment so I used the secondary fermentation process and since out temps have been a little cooler here my wort fermented at a fairly steady 65*F. My taste test when I checked FG was surprising. This tastes like it will turn out pretty good once it finishes conditioning. I will obviously have to do a side by side taste test with the real thing when this batch is ready.
Brewed this using 2308 and yeast starter 7 days 52 degrees 6days 69 degrees moved to secondary for 4 weeks 35 degrees. Kegged it. Turned out very good will brew again. Had this on tap here at one of the local pubs and this rivals it very nicely.Of course it was not served by a scantly clad gal but none the less very good!
This was my first brew I have ever done. I honestly think its pretty close to the Original. I force carbed after 2 and half weeks of fermentation. And it turned out great. Will definitely buy this one again.
