Pitching/Fermentation: A wonderfully unique Norwegian farmstead kveik, Hornindal produces a tropical flavor and complex aroma that can present itself as stonefruit, pineapple, and dried fruit leather, which complement fruit-forward hops. Add even more dimension to "C" hops and increase ester intensity with a high fermentation temperature. Ferments well at 90 Degrees F+. Non-phenolic and no noticeable fusels, even at higher temperatures.

Love this stuff for mead

Did a summer brew in the garage because this handles the heat so we’ll. Ferments fast and clean.

Loved the Heat

I normally ferment in SS conical bottom with temp controls. However, I always have too much wort and got me a Brew Demon 2.5gallons for that. I fermented a blonde on the benchtop in my outdoor setup, with temps reaching 85-90. This yeast loved that setup. It started strong and finished clean. I ferment for 7 days or more for every beer, this one was nearly 9 days. I do that to ensure full conversion and removes anything that needs to go. The finish is clean with a slight Hefen/Saison like quality. There is a slight fruity ester that is very pleasant and compliments the lighter style I used it in. I didn't use much hops for this batch, but can see how this would pair nicely with a hoppy beer. Totally impressed with this yeast's ability to produce an awesome clean beer at such a high ferm temperature. Kind of a game changer for anyone without temp controls. Will do another experimental batch soon. Fun beer for sure and great for summer both in style and hot ferm temps...

Hmmm... on the wall with this one.... took a long time for ferment to take off - pitch temp was 80 deg. Finally did take off but had to put my wort in a warmer.

Fast fermentation

Easy to use and fast fermentation. No need to keep wort cooled down I normally use a cooling unit but wanted to try this one without unit. No off flavors. Best used on Pale ales and IPA's. Nice fruity flavor with my Pale Ale. This yeast will work in temps well into the high 90's.
