Newcastle Brown Ale (11C) - MINI MASH Homebrew Ingredient Kit

A bit drier than Newcastle but still a superb beer. If you like malty and smooth, you'll like this kit.

Lacked depth, mouthfeel, and flavor. Done about 20 AHS kits and this was one of the worst ones. It's been aging for 7 months now and still a subpar beer.

I brewed this as an extract with specialty grains with the recommended Danstar dry yeast in early December 2015. I kegged it after three weeks and it has been in the keg an addtional month. Very nutty, malty, low hops. Nice session beer. I have not done a side-by-side tasting with Newcastle, but tastes similar. I am pleased with the results, though I have been more impressed with other AHS kits.

This extract was my first attempt at homebrewing in almost 10 years. I wish I could say that I haven't lost my touch, but I'm pretty sure the simplicity of the recipe saved me. A very good clone, a couple of my friends only picked this out of a blind taste test against the namesake because they said it "tastes the same, only fresh"

This was a great beer, not exactly like newcastle, but I like it just as much. I used the alcohol boost and it came out great. I'll brew it again some time, cheap tasty, easy to brew.
