Description
These chips were gently roasted between 350–375 °F to achieve a medium toast, unlocking the classic characteristics of French oak. French Oak Chips allow you to impart refined oak-aged complexity to your wine without the need for a barrel.
Medium toast brings out delicate aromas of spice, roasted nuts, and subtle vanilla, with smoother, rounder tannins than American oak. French oak is prized for its elegance and its ability to enhance mouthfeel without overpowering the wine's natural character.
For white wines, we recommend using 1 cup of chips to add subtle structure and complexity. For red wines, use 2 cups for a richer integration of oak. To sanitize, boil the chips in water for 10 minutes, drain, and then add them directly to your glass or plastic fermenter before transferring your wine.
