AHS Session Series Smoked Ale - MINI MASH Homebrew Ingredient Kit

I chose to brew a half (2.5 gallon) batch of ASH Session Series Smoked Ale for a first try of smoked beer to serve at a brisket bash with friends. AHS service was outstanding in helping set up the recipe for half size brew batch and the brew went very smoothly. Three weeks after bottling we served the smoked beer at the bash and to my surprise, it was a hit, with guests consuming the whole batch with many comments on the excellence of the beer. This smoked ale's flavor balanced the malt and hops very well with just a hint of the smoke flavor underneath and no bitterness and measured at 4.7% ABV. Stationed in Bamberg Germany, home of Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier, I have to say this beer compares very favorably to that (in my mind) standard of smoked beers!
