Amazing, awesome. Huge fermentaiton. Did a boost and got my OG a point higher. Hit predicted FG. It has an amazing graham cracker taste. SUPER good, will brew again...probably this xmas.

i made the all grain version of this and it turned out to be quite tasty. i'm still a newb at this and i have never tried the real HopSlam, so i can't say how it compares to the original. mine came out to be a very well balanced DIPA, not the typical hop bomb. the smell is of wonderful citrus and floral hops, and the taste follows. it has that slight grapefruit/citrus hops flavor that, unlike some others, i love in a DIPA. however, it is not overwhelming. the maltiness kicks in to balance it out pretty nicely. the maltiness comes through stronger as it warms. the aftertaste is a great balance of the two that leaves you wanting more. overall, this is a great recipe that i will definately be brewing again.

Tried real Hopslam for first time Feb 2010. 10% ABV, 60IBU, brewed with honey, complex flavor of citrus hops were right up my alley. The $18 per 6-pack price tag was not. I brewed this Extract kit 8/21/2010 following directions to a "T". I double pitched, but did not make starter. For fun, I added the 1%ABV boost. My OG is 1.100 and hydrometer sample tastes very, very good. This will be VERY good beer. It's only my 4th brewed batch, I'm going to try to be patient and let it primary for 4 weeks, secondary for 8 weeks then keg. Should be ready for Thanksgiving. Will provide ABR later...

TIP It is similar to Hopslam and Hopslam is one of my favorites. It is still a little off so I would recommend switching out the extra corn sugar with some honey and also adding in a half oz of simcoe dry hop and you should hit the mark. Either way, one of my favorite kits (along with the Belgian Wheat IPA)
