Here's a bold spitfire of a brew! Our Ginger Rye Ale combines rye's heartiness, and ginger's spicy character to create a very unique beer. Fruity hop flavor, and mild bitterness will be notable.

Used Wyeast 1099, Propper Starter, Alcohol boost , and 4oz Malto-dextrin options. Added 1 lb addn'l Rye Malt, dry hopped with 2oz Sabro in secondary, and added 2oz of tangerine zest vodka tincture at bottling. Primary 2 wks, secondary for 2 weeks, then "bottled" in 2 X 2.5 Gallon "Beer Box" containers for 2 wks. Tasted after 1 wk in Beer Box, was OK but not great. After 2 wks in Beer Box flavor was fantastic! Beer is very orange/red color with good mouthfeel. I will definitely make this again.
