Absolute hit

Great lower ABV beer that was a crowd pleaser. Orange citrus flavors really shined through. Simple but delicious. Will make again.

Nice!

All grain brewer with S-05 and first wort hopper. I altered it a bit by moving a little of the bittering hops back to late additions and dry hopping. Comes out very nice and smooth, definitely shows off the tropical furit of the Citra and not so assertively bitter as a result of the hop adjustments. If I had to do it over again, I would do as Tom N says below but just fully replace the bittering with Magnum and keep all of the Citra on the backend as late/flameout/dry additions.

Citra

This is the closest I could get to the iconic Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. I did mini-mash using Wyeast 1272. I took the advice of the last reviewer and used Magnum for bittering. Nine days in the first carboy then ten days in the second, dry hopping with Citra. I bottled 22 bombers for 28 days before start drinking. The beer is amber and hoppy. A nice, mellow head adds smoothness to the mouthfeel. This is a beer I will absolutely continue to brew. Batch #37. Forest Hills, NY.

Citra

Amber and hoppy this beer is medium body with a great aftertaste. A nice, mellow head adds smoothness to the mouthfeel. This is the closest I got from the iconic Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. I did mini-mash with Wyeast 1272. Nine days in the first carboy, ten days in the second and about a month in the bottles before I had one. I bittered with 1oz. Magnum just like the other reviewer did and dry hopped with the Citra. This is a beer I will absolutely continue to brew. Batch #37 Forest Hills, NY.

Great Kit with an extra ounce of Magnum

I brewed this kit about a month ago and bought an extra ounce of Magnum. I substituted the Magnum for the ounce of Citra at 60 minutes and used the left over Citra for a dry-hop after hitting the target FG and cold crashing to 40 degrees for two days. After 7 days dryhopping, I bottled this one yesterday and it is wonderfully aromatic and great tasting flat and warm. I highly recommend this kit.
