Bavarian it is.....

With work I am lucky to be able to get trips to Germany. After going so many times I have learned what real Dunkelweisse and Hefeweizen are. Its what got me into brewing because here in the states you cant find a wheat beer like the ones made over in Germany. This recipe is very close to what is brewed over there and much better than what I can find in the stores here. If you like the wheats then try it, you wont be disappointed. I brewed the Exract Recipe and I will buy again.

Great Beer

This beer was my third beer brewed, still new to this I did the LEX recipe. This is my favorite so far and the first I see me brewing again soon. I kept it around 62-64 degrees during fermentation and followed the directions to the letter. Even my bud light buddies like this beer!!!

This was my second brewing adventure on my own and it turned out wonderful! Didn't have the banana flavor and had the spicy flavor folks are looking for. Tasted a lot like the real deal at the German restaurant in town. My friends all loved it and want me to brew it again. I really like the Wyeast smack pack, it is trustworthy! Will brew this one again!

This was my first all grain BIAB. Came out great. Definitely needs at least 3 weeks bottle conditioning. You will be rewarded with your patience. I fermented in the low to mid 60's and the banana smell imparted by the Weihenstephan liquid yeast was pronounced and awesome. I can best describe this brew as Banana Chocolate Milkshake. I highly recommend it and I will brew again myself.

My first try at a dark wheat beer. kept fermentation between 68-70 deg. to keep the banana taste to a minimum. It turned out very good. Richer than triditional wheat beers with more complex flavors. I may never brew a light wheat beer again.
