I think this is a very close clone. I brewed the extract version and used the recomended wyeast. Great kit, I will be brewing the mini-mash version soon.

This was the first Mini-Mash beer kit I have used. After ageing in bottles for three weeks it still had a lot of the hops taste but very good. After six weeks it was a lot better and brought back mummeries of my vacation in Montana. Loved it can't wait to make it again.

Did the all grain version of this clone with the Wyeast. It is absolutely amazing. Almost spot on at 4 weeks of bottle conditioning. If there is a difference, the malt flavor sticks out a little more than the commercial version. It will be tough not going through this batch quickly. This will definitely make my regular rotation.

Since my previous comments were deleted for some reason, I thought I would try again. I did the mini-mash with liquid extract and WLP002. Partial boil on the stovetop and diluted with boiled, cooled water. When compared side-by-side to the commercial version, my homebrew was darker (due to partial boil?) with a stronger roasted flavor and less residual sweetness.

I brewed the all grain kit with the dry yeast. Very close to the commercial version. Took it to a home brew fest along with four other beers and this was the first keg to kick.
